About Captain Pramod Narayan
Captain Pramod Narayan began providing advisory services following his retirement from Qatar Petroleum in December 2019. He was Marine Quality Assurance Manager (Vetting) overseeing marine assurance aspects for all Qatari Ports and Offshore Terminals viz. Ras Laffan, Al Rayyan, Mesaieed, Halul and Al Shaheen. He was instrumental in the implementation of Vetting application named SERDAL (a derivative of the MARQAUS, an Exxon Mobil application) for the State of Qatar.
From 2008 to 2019, Capt. Narayan managed his team conducting vetting/ assurance of 2700 (Tankers and Gas Carriers) and 600 (Dry Bulk - Sulphur and Urea) vessels on an annual basis. The role included defining policies and standards covering all aspects of marine and terminal functions, training and development of Vetting Team, review and update of Vetting Group Procedures and Control Catalogues aligned and benchmarked with global industry vetting standards. He delivered strong technical customer experience through problem identification, communication, and management of technical data, preparation and monitor of KPIs, integrating metrics and screen non-conformities to successfully achieve short- and long-term strategic goals.
Prior joining Qatar Petroleum in 2008, Capt. Narayan served as Operations and Assurance Superintendent (LNG) for Oman Shipping Company, a JV of Ministry of Oil and Gas, Oman and Mitsui OSK Lines, Japan. During his tenure his operational experience skills and commercial awareness was recognized by Shell, Exmar and MOL.
Capt. Narayan has extensive sea going experience from 1988 to 2003, on specialized vessels, viz. VLCC, Products, Chemical tankers. His exemplary performance during his command experience of 7 years was recognized by Owners, Managers and Charterers.
